Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had said that new signing Christian Pulisic is still a part of his plans at the club despite his recent lack of playing time.
Frank Lampard was questioned about American international Christian Pulisic by reporters during his post-match press conference after the Valencia game in the Champions League.
Christian Pulisic was an unused substitute against Valencia and that raised eyebrows in Frank Lampard’s reaction to the game which ended in a 1-0 home defeat for his team.
On Pulisic, Frank Lampard said that the player is in his long-term plans before adding that he opted for Pedro Rodriguez because of his Champions League experience.
Christian Pulisic joined Chelsea from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in a £57.1m deal but he has been restricted to just four appearances this season under Frank Lampard.
His transfer was agreed in January but he didn’t team up with his new teammates until this summer having spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Pulisic turns 21 today and his target would be for more playing time at Chelsea this season.
Frank Lampard and Chelsea were beaten 1-0 at home to Valencia who got the only goal of the game through Rodrigo.
Chelsea could have gotten a point at least but the 87th penalty from Ross Barkley could only hit the crossbar.
