Arsenal Boss Provides Injury Update On Defender

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that defender Rob Holding is close to making his comeback on the back of a serious knee injury.

Unai Emery gave an injury update on young English defender Holding during his pre-match presser ahead of the Premier League clash at Watford.

The Hornets have started the season poorly and they are looking for their first win of the season ahead of the home meeting with Arsenal.

On Rob Holding, Unai Emery said that the defender is closing in on his comeback after nine months.

Unai Emery said that the player has been building his fitness with the Arsenal u23s and that he could play for the Gunners next week.

Rob Holding is almost certain to miss the Watford game tomorrow though the Europa League game with Eintracht Frankfurt is a bit more realistic for his return.

English defender Holding was a key player for Arsenal before his injury last season.

He was injured during a collision with Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

Holding was stretchered off after the collision with Rashford.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery would be hoping to lead his team to victory for the first time in three games after the recent results against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
