Ronaldo, Lukaku Breaks Serie A Records

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku have both made the top five earners in the Italian Serie A according to the publication from the stables of popular Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ronaldo and Lukaku were formerly on the books at Premier League giants Manchester United.

Portuguese international skipper Ronaldo is the highest earner in the history of the Italian Serie A at £28m per annum after tax.

His yearly wages is more than three times the player in second place, Juventus teammate Matthijs De Ligt.

Juventus signed Dutch international centre back De Ligt this summer and he earns £7.2m yearly after tax.

The aforementioned Lukaku is the joint third top earner in the Italian Serie A alongside Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain at £6.7m per annum after tax.

Romelu Lukaku left Manchester United to join Inter Milan in the summer after spending two years at the Theatre of Dreams.

The 26-year-old joined Inter Milan in a deal worth £73.9m including £9.2m in add-ons.

The Belgian international star is the record transfer for Inter Milan who is hoping to stop the Serie A dominance of Juventus.

Paolo Dybala of Juventus completes the top five earners at £6.5m at the end of tax.
