Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has finally reacted to the racist abuse he suffered during the Italian Serie A clash at Cagliari on Sunday.

Lukaku was subjected to monkey chants during the game especially when he took the 72nd penalty that gave Inter Milan the win over their hosts.

Inter Milan defeated hosts Cagliari 2-1 to maintain their perfect start to the new Italian Serie A season.

Romelu Lukaku has started the season in fine form on the back of his transfer from Inter Milan.

The Belgian international scored on his debut for Italian side Inter Milan during the 4-0 thrashing of newly promoted outfit Lecce.

The Cagliari game represents his second match in the colours of Inter Milan.

Lukaku left Manchester United to join Inter Milan in a £73.9m deal.

The Belgian all-time leading goalscorer spent two years at Manchester United on the back of his £75m transfer from fellow Premier League side Everton.

Romelu Lukaku signed for Manchester United while Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho was the Red Devils boss.

He was the leading goalscorer at Manchester United in his first season at the club.

Lukaku scored 27 goals in his debut campaign as a Manchester United player before adding 15 goals in his second season.
