Former Manchester United striker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to depart from Arsenal after seeing just few minutes of action in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Armenian international departed Manchester United in 2018 as he was offered as a makeshift in a deal that brought Alexis Sanchez to the Theatre of Dreams.

According to reports reaching out from the Emirates Stadium on Monday, the winger is set to make a deadline day loan move out of the North London club after failing to get regular game-time under Unai Emery so far this season.

The addition of Nicholas Pepe from Lille has further reduced his chances of being a regular starter in the team this season and he is now considering going elsewhere before the transfer market comes to a close in Europe this night.

It is believed that Serie A side Roma have reached a one-year loan deal with Arsenal for the player’s service and the deal will be finalized in a few hours.

Meanwhile, the emergence of Hale End academy youngsters— including Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe — means Unai Emery has more than enough players to occupy the void that will be created as a result of Mkhitaryan’s departure.

The player became the first player to score for and against Manchester United in a single season when he found the back of David De Gea’s net in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to the Red Devils in September last year.
