Premier League legend Alan Shearer has praised the impact of new Everton signing Alex Iwobi at Goodison Park following his goalscoring exploits against Wolves earlier on Sunday.

Alex Iwobi was on target for Everton as they recorded a second successive league home win at the start of the new season with the 3-2 victory over Wolves.

Everton won their first league game of the season at home by beating Watford 1-0 two weeks ago.

In his post-match thoughts on Premier League TV Match of the Day, former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer lauded Alex Iwobi for the start to his career at Goodison Park.

According to him, Alex Iwobi needs to weigh in with more goals and assists.

Alan Shearer also praised Icelandic international star Gylfi Sigurdsson who supplied the assist for Alex Iwobi’s goal.

Alex Iwobi scored to edge Everton 2-1 ahead in the 12th minute after Ruben Saiss had canceled out the opening goal from Brazilian international Richarlison.

All three goals came within the first 15 minutes of the game.

Wolves equalized through Raul Jimenez in the second half before Richarlison hit his brace to give Everton the 3-2 win.

Alex Iwobi has now scored two goals in his last two games for Everton since his £40m move from Arsenal.
