Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has revealed that his advice on Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was turned down while he was the manager with the Gabonese national team.
Aubameyang is the star player for the Gabonese national team and Rohr advised him to join French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux but the move didn’t materialize.
Rohr made this known in a chat with Gold FM’s Le Point G.
The Super Eagles manager is not a stranger to Bordeaux after spending 21 years at the club.
Gernot Rohr was there as a player and as a manager.

He was in charge of the team at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia as the Super Eagles crashed out at the group stage.
The Super Eagles finished third in Group D behind Argentina and group winners Croatia, while Iceland were the bottom team at the end of the group games.
Gernot Rohr was also the Super Eagles manager at this summer’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.
Nigeria finished the tournament in the third position as Algeria emerged as winners for the second time in their history after the 1-0 win over Senegal in their final clash.
