Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi has revealed that Chelsea legend John Mikel Obi is his football idol.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria star made this known in a chat with the official website of Leicester City.

Wilfried Ndidi stated that he watched John Mikel Obi while growing up before adding that he has also played alongside him for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Ndidi and Mikel Obi were part of the Super Eagles squad to the just concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

Algeria won the tournament while Nigeria finished in third position.

Ndidi spoke about John Mikel Obi as his Leicester City side prepare to face Chelsea on Sunday evening.

Chelsea host Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in what’s their second Premier League game of the new season.

The Blues would be hoping to bounce back from the disappointing loss in week 1.

Chelsea were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United through goals from Marcus Rashford (2), French international Anthony Martial and substitute Daniel James.

For Leicester City, the Foxes played out a goalless draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first league game of the season.

Chelsea lost the coresponding fixture last season through a lone strike from Jamie Vardy.
