Unai Emery Speaks On Starting This Player Against Liverpool

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted that new signing Nicholas Pepe could play a more prominent role for the Gunners when they travel to face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday evening in one of the week three games.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, the Arsenal manager spoke about Pepe and the possibility of starting the Liverpool game at Anfield.

According to him, Nicholas Pepe has improved his fitness levels from three weeks ago when he joined Arsenal in a club-record deal of €80m (£72m).

Nicholas Pepe signed for Arsenal this summer after spending two years at French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Unai Emery revealed that Pepe played 15 minutes against Newcastle United in the opening game of the new Premier League season before playing for 45 minutes in the second league game against Burnley last weekend.

The former Valencia, Almeria and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager went on to say that Ivorian international Pepe is ready to take on more minutes with his improved fitness levels.

Arsenal and Liverpool clash at Anfield with their respective perfect starts on the line.

The Gunners defeated Newcastle United and Burnley in their first two games, while Liverpool saw off Norwich City and Southampton for their first two league matches of the season.
