Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp paid tribute to rivals Chelsea after he faced them in the UEFA Super Cup for 2019.

Klopp and his Liverpool team needed penalties to see off Chelsea after both teams enjoyed a four-goal salvo at the end of regulation time and extra time.

In his post-match press conference after the game, Klopp pointed out the character shown by Chelsea and the resilience from his team.

The UEFA Super Cup is the second trophy won by Jurgen Klopp as a Liverpool manager.

The Champions League title was his first title at Anfield after almost four years in charge of the team.

The Super Cup title was made possible by the penalty shootout win over Chelsea.
