Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the contribution of Spanish goalkeeper Adrian after their UEFA Super Cup triumph at the expense of Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Klopp was full of praise for summer signing Adrian during his post-match press conference after the game played at the Vodafone Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Spanish goalkeeper joined Liverpool on a free transfer this summer.

Adrian was the hero for Liverpool during the penalty shootout after he saved the penalty from Chelsea substitute Tammy Abraham to give the Reds a 5-4 win.

Regulation time and extra time ended in a four-goal thriller between the two sides.

French World Cup winner Olivier Giroud gave Chelsea a first half advantage to take his tally to 12 goals in 13 games on the continent.

The first advantage from Chelsea didn’t last long at the start of the second half after Liverpool scored the equalizer through Sadio Mane off an assist from substitute Roberto Firmino.

Regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw between the two teams leading to extra time.

Mane edged Liverpool 2-1 ahead before Chelsea scored the equalizer almost immediately through Italian international star Jorginho.

The former Napoli midfielder scored from the spot for Chelsea after Tammy Abraham was brought down by Adrian.
