Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has reportedly called Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar to tell the Brazilian international to snub rivals Real Madrid for a return to the Nou Camp.

This is according to the latest reports emanating from the media in Spain.

Neymar has already told senior PSG officials that he wants to leave the French capital after spending two years at the club.

According to the specific report from Spanish newspaper Marca, Lionel Messi put a call across to his former teammate Neymar to convince him to snub arch-rivals Real Madrid even after spending two years at PSG.

Neymar left Barcelona to join PSG in a controversial manner after he forced his exit in the summer of 2017.

PSG activated the €222m (£200m) release clause in his then Barcelona contract to join the Paris club.

Since moving to PSG, Neymar has scored 51 goals in 58 appearances.

Recent reports claimed that Barcelona have increased their offer for him.

It was revealed that the Catalan giants have offered €60m plus Philippe Coutinho and that the offer could even increase to €80m plus Philippe Coutinho.

Messi would be hoping that long-term Manchester United target Neymar reject any overtures from Real Madrid to return to Barcelona.
