Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar is closing in on a move away from the French Ligue 1 club this summer following the confirmation from a senior official.

The club’s sporting director, Leonardo confirmed to reporters that PSG are in advanced talks to sell Neymar this summer.

The ex-Brazilian national team player was also quick to point out that an agreement has not been reached for the sale of his compatriot.

Two Spanish clubs namely Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be in the running to sign the 27-year-old Brazilian international star though the player is said to prefer a return to Barcelona.

Neymar spent four years at Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona following his move to Europe from Brazilian Serie A outfit Santos in the summer of 2013.

The PSG player left Barcelona in a controversial manner in 2017 after becoming frustrated with the dominance of Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona received €222m (£200m) for his transfer when he left them to join PSG two years ago.

Long-term Manchester United target Neymar scored 105 goals in 186 appearances for Barcelona where he won two league titles as well as the 2015 Champions League title which was made possible by the 3-1 win over Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
