Former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has signed for Premier League club Crystal Palace ahead of the new season.
The new Premier League season starts on Friday night at Anfield when last season’s runners-up Liverpool will host Crystal Palace at Anfield.
Gary Cahill has joined Crystal Palace on a free transfer as confirmed by the BBC.
The 34-year-old center-back has signed a two-year deal at Crystal Palace until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The retired England international was a free agent before he signed for the Eagles.
He left Chelsea this summer after his contract at Stamford Bridge ended.

Gary Cahill was one of the best defenders at Chelsea during his time at the club.
He signed for Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers in January 2012 and the Englishman went on to help Chelsea win the Champions League title for the first time in their history later that season.
Cahill and Chelsea also won the 2013 Europa League title in the following season.
During his time at Chelsea, Gary Cahill won two Premier League titles.
He was a big part of the Chelsea squad that won the 2014/15 Premier League title under Jose Mourinho as well as the 2016/17 Premier League title under Antonio Conte.
