Europa League finalists Arsenal have been denied in their quest to sign Juventus defender Daniele Rugani on loan this summer.
According to popular Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal made an offer of a two-year loan deal with the option of a permanent transfer for the defender and it was rejected by Juventus.
Daniele Rugani is further down the pecking order in the centre back department at Juventus following the signings of Merih Demiral and Matthijs De Ligt.
Italian international Rugani was the third center back option at Juventus behind the veteran duo of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci but he’s now the fifth centre back option at the Juventus Stadium.
Juventus signed Turkish defender Merih Demiral from fellow Italian Serie A club Sassuolo earlier this summer.
The Old Lady paid around €18m for the defender.
After the signing of Merih Demiral, Matthijs De Ligt joined Juventus from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam.
The Dutch giants spent around €85m on De Ligt who was also linked with some of the other big clubs on the European football scene.
Apart from Juventus, Premier League trio of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool were also interested in a move for the 19-year-old defender.
