Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed the reason behind the loan exit of midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos has joined Premier League giants Arsenal on loan for the new season without any option or obligation to buy at the end of his loan spell at the Emirates Stadium next summer.
Zidane spoke about Dani Ceballos and his transfer out of the club during his latest press conference at the ongoing International Champions Cup (ICC).
He was speaking ahead of the upcoming ICC clash with Madrid Derby rivals Atletico.
According to him, Dani Ceballos has left Real Madrid for Arsenal because of his desire for more first team opportunities.
Zinedine Zidane further said that Dani Ceballos won’t play regular football with the Real Madrid first team if he had stayed for the season.
Dani Ceballos has spent two seasons as a Real Madrid player before his loan move to Arsenal.
He joined the Los Merengues from fellow Spanish La Liga club Real Betis in a €17m deal.
Dani Ceballos joined Real Madrid was hailed as the next best thing when he joined Real Madrid but he has not been able to live up to that hype at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu.
