Man Utd Target Matthijs De Ligt Given Jersey Number After Completing Juventus Transfer

New Juventus signing Matthijs De Ligt has been given a jersey number at the club on the back of his transfer earlier this week.
De Ligt was confirmed as a Juventus player on Thursday morning after passing his medical 24 hours earlier.
The 19-year-old centre back has been given the jersey number four at Juventus ahead of the new season.
Juventus won the race to sign the young Dutch international ahead of other European clubs like French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona as well as the Premier League duo of Liverpool and Manchester United.

When asked about his choice of Juventus, the player admitted that he has many Italian football idols from Paolo Maldini to Franco Baresi to Fabio Cannavaro to Alessandro Nesta.
He believes that his transfer to Italy will take his game to the next level.
Juventus paid an initial fee of €75m for his transfer in addition to €10.5m in add-ons to make the deal a total of €85.5m.
Matthijs De Ligt was a key player for Ajax Amsterdam before he left the Dutch Eredivisie giants to join Juventus this summer.
He won two major trophies with Ajax Amsterdam during the last campaign.
