Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray are keen on signing former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill on a free transfer this summer.

According to The Sun, the Turkish giants are hoping that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba can help to convince Gary Cahill to join the club.

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba spent two seasons as a Galatasaray player shortly after leaving the Blues.

Gary Cahill is a free agent at the moment after his Chelsea contract expired at the end of last month.

The 33-year-old was a Chelsea player between January 2012 and June 2018.

He spent over six years at the club following his £7m move from English League One side Bolton Wanderers who were in the top flight when he joined Chelsea.

Galatasaray are not the only team interested in Gary Cahill.

His preference is to stay in the Premier League and London to be precise.

The above criteria could tip his signing in the favour of North London giants Arsenal.

Former Premier League champions Leicester City are also interested in him as a possible replacement for defender Harry Maguire if the England international leaves the club this summer.

Harry Maguire is attracting serious interest from the Manchester clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and West Ham United are all interested in Gary Cahill.
