Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has backed Inter Milan’s pursuit of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
In a chat with FCInter News, Zola said that Romelu Lukaku would be the ideal signing for Italian Serie A giants International Milan.
Former Chelsea forward Zola is certain that the all-time Belgian national team topscorer will be an instant hit for Inter Milan.
Zola was the assistant Chelsea manager for just one season before his exit this summer after Maurizio Sarri left the club for Italian champions Juventus.
He was the right-hand man for Sarri at Chelsea as they won the Europa League title together via a 4-1 win over London rivals Arsenal in the final played in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Inter Milan have made Lukaku their top transfer target this summer and they have agreed on personal terms with him.
The Nerazzurri are still a long way from completing a deal for him as they still have to agree on a fee with Manchester United who are holding out for the majority of the money spent on him two years ago.
Manchester United spent £75m to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton in the summer of 2017.
He has scored 42 goals in 96 appearances for Manchester United.
