Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has backed the club’s bid for Leicester City star Harry Maguire this summer.
The Red Devils centre back supported the move while fielding questions from ESPN reporters.
According to him, he would welcome competition in the centre back position at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have been trying to bolster their centre back options this summer with the signing of Harry Maguire but fellow Premier League club Leicester City have been difficult during negotiations between two clubs for the player.
The Red Devils have made two bids for Harry Maguire and those bids were swiftly rejected by Leicester City.
The last bid of £70m was turned down by the Foxes who are holding out for at least £80m for the England international centre back.
Manchester United have just two weeks to secure the signing.
Harry Maguire has already told Leicester City officials that he would like to leave the club this summer after two years at the club.
The former Sheffield United defender joined the former Premier League champions from Championship club Hull City in the summer of 2017.
Leicester City paid £17m to secure his signing from Hull City.
He helped the Foxes to ninth position at the end of the Premier League last season.
