Europa League champions Chelsea have reportedly turned down a big bid for one of their right-backs.

Chelsea defender Reece James has been attracting a lot of interest from other Premier League teams.

According to the report from the Daily Star, Chelsea have rejected a £20m bid for the young right-back.

Fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace made the bid for Reece James and it was swiftly turned down by the West Londoners.

Chelsea are reluctant to let the young defender leave the club this summer on the back of his successful loan spell at English Championship club Wigan Athletic.

He was the standout player in the Wigan Athletic team that narrowly escaped relegation at the end of the last English Championship season.

Crystal Palace see Reece James as the perfect man to replace compatriot Aaron Wan-Bissaka who left the club to join Manchester United earlier this summer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka left Crystal Palace this summer on the back of just one season in the English top flight.

The 21-year-old signed for the Red Devils in a deal worth £50m including £5m in add-ons.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the fifth most expensive player in the history of Manchester United after his transfer this summer.
