Three-time European champions Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign highly rated AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

According to the publication from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato, Manchester United want to sign young Italian player.

The Red Devils have joined fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the player rated at £25m.

Apart from the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Nicolo Zaniolo has also been linked with a move to Italian Serie A champions Juventus.

The 20-year-old has been able to make his mark on Italian football in a short space of time.

Nicolo Zaniolo has spent just one season as an AS Roma player on the back of his move from fellow Italian top flight club Inter Milan.

Roma signed him in a swap deal which saw Radja Nainggolan move in the other direction with Inter Milan paying more money.

His best game for AS Roma came in the Champions League clash with Portuguese Super League giants FC Porto.

Zaniolo scored a brace to help AS Roma overcome FC Porto in the first leg of their last 16 clash.

His brace gave AS Roma a 2-1 win over the Portuguese club.
