Portuguese Super League giants Sporting Lisbon have demanded £70m from Manchester United for midfielder Bruno Fernandes according to the newest reports in the British media.

Bruno Fernandes has emerged as the top midfield target for Manchester United this summer.

According to the publication from the Daily Mirror, Sporting Lisbon have turned down a big offer from Manchester United.

It was revealed that the Portuguese giants are holding out for £70m for Bruno Fernandes.

The offer made by Manchester United is £50m which is still £20m short of the Sporting Lisbon valuation.

But According to the Independent United are confident of signing Fernandes to Old Trafford but deep down they know they would have to pay more than £50million to land the smart central midfielder.

It was also revealed that Fernandes himself is keen on making the transfer move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are one player short in the midfield following the exit of Ander Herrera this summer, Bruno Fernandes could be the man to replace the Spanish international.

The Portuguese international star showed that he would be more than capable to replace Ander Herrera at Manchester United.

Ander Herrera spent five years at Old Trafford before leaving on a free transfer this summer.

He has joined French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) on a five-year deal until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Bruno Fernandes was in very good form for Sporting Lisbon last season and he can replicate the same form for the Red Devils in the new season.

He scored 32 goals and also added 18 assists in 53 appearances for Sporting Lisbon last season.
