Arsenal fans have demanded the signing of Brazilian players in the wake of the appointment of Edu as the technical director at the club.

Earlier on Tuesday, former Arsenal midfielder Edu was confirmed as the first technical director in the history of the club.

The 41-year-old was described as the missing piece in the executive jigsaw at Arsenal by the club’s chief executive Raul Sanllehi.

He took up the Arsenal job following his exit from a similar role with the Brazilian national team.

Edu was the technical director for the Brazilian national team as they won the 2019 COPA America on home soil.

The Brazilians have now won nine titles following the 3-1 win over Peru in their final clash.

Only Uruguay and arch rivals Argentina have won more titles than five-time world champions Brazil.

Upon the confirmation of Edu as their new technical director, Arsenal fans took to social media to make demands.

Arsenal fans asked for the signing of Brazilian players from Edu.

The 41-year-old knows Arsenal inside out after spending four-and-a-half years at the club.

He joined Arsenal from Spanish La Liga club Valencia in January 2001 before leaving in 2006.

Edu won two league titles and an FA Cup title during his time at the club.
