North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have not received an offer for their defender this summer.

Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld could still stay in North London with no offer in sight for the player according to Sky Sports News.

Toby Alderweireld has a release clause of £25m in his contract with the North Londoners after the club activated the extra year clause in his contract.

Clubs have until the end of July to meet the aforementioned release clause.

Before the extra year release clause was activated, Toby Alderweireld had few months left on his then contract at Spurs.

Toby Alderweireld is a long-term transfer target for Manchester United dating back to last summer when Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him.

In the end, Toby Alderweireld stayed at White Hart Lane while Manchester United didn’t sign a quality defender until Jose Mourinho left in December.

Manchester United are back in the hunt for a new quality central defender with several options at their disposal.

Ajax Amsterdam skipper Matthijs De Ligt rejected the overtures from Manchester United as he’s in favour of a move to Italian Serie A giants Juventus.

Others like Sampdoria centre back Joachim Andersen and young French defender William Saliba have also been linked with the Gunners.
