Atletico Madrid are about to make the biggest transfer of this summer’s transfer window if reports coming out of the media in Spain.

It was revealed that the two-time Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid are close to completing the big money transfer of Joao Felix who plays his club football in Portugal.

Joao Felix helped Portuguese champions Benfica reclaim their league title after rivals FC Porto had taken the title for just one season (during the 2017/18 campaign).

He was the shining light for Benfica during the just concluded season after he scored 20 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese giants.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a lot of European clubs in the past months including Liverpool who recently won the Champions League title thereby becoming the European champions.

Liverpool had a £61m bid rejected for him during the just concluded campaign with Benfica holding out for his full release clause which stands at €120m (£106.7m).

The Spanish giants are ready to pay the release clause as they view Joao Felix as the direct replacement for Barcelona-bound Antoine Griezmann.

Atletico Madrid XI (4-4-2): Jan Oblak, Santiago Arias, Jose Gimenez, Stefan Savic, Filipe Luis; Koke, Saul Niguez, Thomas Partey, Thomas Lemar; Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata.
