Arsenal legend David Seaman has called on his former club to do everything possible to sign Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper urged senior club officials to sign the Scottish international left-back.

According to David Seaman, Arsenal need to sign quality defenders this summer to address their glaring defence issues.

Arsenal had a very defensively poor last season after they conceded 51 goals in just 38 games in the Premier League.

The Gunners had one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the Premier League and that ultimately played a prominent role for Arsenal who missed out to the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the top four places on the table.

Premier League champions Manchester City and Liverpool were unassailable as both teams battled for the title won by the Citizens who have now two successive league titles.

At the end of last month, Arsenal have firmed up their interest in the aforementioned Tierney as manager Unai Emery try to improve his team before the new season.

The Gunners made an opening offer of £15m for Kieran Tierney only for Celtic to reject the bid with the Scottish champions holding out for £25m for their player.
