Three-time European champions Manchester United won’t finish ahead of rivals Chelsea at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season despite the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to ESPN pundit and commentator Ian Darke, Manchester United still need to make several signings to have the chance of finishing ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to finish in the top four places next season.

Ian Darke expects Manchester City and Liverpool to fight for the league title in the new season, while the other members of the top-six clan (Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United) are expected to fight for the remaining two spots that will complete the lineup for the top four and Champions League qualification.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur finished in third and fourth position respectively, while Arsenal and Manchester United ended the last campaign in fifth and sixth position.

According to Ian Darke, Manchester United will find it difficult to finish the new season above Chelsea with Aaron Wan-Bissaka who joined the Red Devils recently in a £50m deal.

England junior international Wan-Bissaka left Crystal Palace to join Manchester United at the end of last month.
