Italian Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly made a big bid to sign Ajax Amsterdam captain Matthijs De Ligt this summer.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Juventus have made a £49.3m bid as well as add-ons for the player.

Juventus are in pole position to sign Matthijs De Ligt who has been linked with a lot of major clubs on the European football stage.

The Italians were said to have agreed to personal terms with the player but a deal is not finalized since they have to reach an agreement with his club.

Matthijs De Ligt has also been linked with clubs like Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona, Premier League giants Manchester United, French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Champions League winners Liverpool.

The 19-year-old Dutch international centre back is the youngest player to captain Ajax Amsterdam after he was named the skipper last year.

De Ligt scored four goals and also added three awaits in 52 games for Ajax last season.

He led his team to the Dutch Eredivisie title and Dutch Cup.

Ajax Amsterdam sealed a fantastic double in the top flight of Dutch football for the first time in over a decade.
