Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have stepped up their pursuit of Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren according to the latest reports coming out of the media in Italy.
AC Milan want to sign a new defender this season and they are eyeing a move for the Croatian international star this summer.
The specific report from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato revealed that the Rossoneri held talks with the player’s agent Predrag Mijatovic (A former Real Madrid striker).
AC Milan have a mini-defensive crisis at the moment with just two fit centre backs (Mateo Musacchio and Alessio Romagnoli).

Dejan Lovren is said to be open to leaving Liverpool this summer after he won the Champions League title with the Reds at the end of last season.
Lovren and Liverpool won the Champions League by beating fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur via a 2-0 over Spurs.
The Reds value Dejan Lovren at around €20m to €25m which could pose a little problem to the Italians’ (AC Milan) quest to sign him
Lovren earns £5.2m on a yearly basis at Liverpool and that could also be a stumbling block to a possible transfer to AC Milan.
