Three-time European champions Manchester United have not been ruled out completely from the race to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele despite the fact that fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have already agreed on a deal with his French club.

This is according to the report from popular French news portal L’Equipe which revealed that the Red Devils still has a chance to sign Tanguy Ndombele since Spurs are yet to agree on personal terms with the French international player.

Tottenham Hotspur is still the favourites to sign the Lyon midfielder having already reached an agreement with Lyon for his transfer.

Both clubs have agreed on an initial fee of €62m rising to €72m dependent on add-ons.

His transfer would be a club-record for Spurs if the North Londoners manage to pull off the move.

It would serve as a big statement to the rest of the Premier League especially the big boys.

Majority of the Premier League big boys have been linked with Tanguy Ndombele at one time or the other.

West London giants Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked with the player who joined Lyon permanently for just €7m last summer on the back of his successful loan spell at the club.
