North London giants Arsenal have reportedly missed out on one of their defensive targets this summer.

Belgian defender Zinho Vanheusden has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal after his successful loan spell with Standard Liege FC of Belgium last season.

Vanheusden spent last season on loan at Belgian top flight side Standard Liege from Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.

According to the report from media outlet HBVL, the 19-year-old has snubbed overtures from Premier League sides like Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers to seal a permanent move to Standard Liege.

Inter Milan will receive €12.6m from Standard Liege for the transfer of Zinho Vanheusden.

The Belgian centre back scored two goals and also provided one assist in 30 games for Standard Liege during the recently concluded season.

He produced a series of commanding display at the heart of the Standard Liege defence.

North London giants Arsenal are in the market for a new centre back as a measure to correct the poor defensive displays from last season.

The Gunners conceded 70 goals in all competitions including 51 goals in just 38 league games.

Apart from Zinho Vanheusden, Arsenal have also been linked with Saint Etienne defender William Saliba, Sampdoria centre back Joachim Andersen and Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
