Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has rubbished reports that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing a move for one of the midfielders on the books of the French Ligue 1 giants.
Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has emerged as a top transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
In a chat with popular French media outlet RMC Sport, Jean-Michael Aulas revealed that Tottenham Hotspur made an opening offer of €40m for Ndombele and that it was not enough.
He went on to jokingly say that he might get double of Spurs offer (€80m) for the player if he waits for eight more days.

Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, Tanguy Ndombele has been linked with other European sides like Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and European champions Liverpool.
Tanguy Ndombele joined Lyon from fellow French Ligue 1 club Amiens last summer on a permanent deal having successfully had a loan spell with the former French champions.
Lyon paid €7m for the French international last summer.
The player was a key member of the Lyon squad that reached the first knockout stage of the Champions League last season before they were eliminated by Spanish champions Barcelona.
He also helped Lyon to third place at the end of the French Ligue 1 season in May.
