Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly turned down an approach for one of their key defenders according to the latest reports emanating from the Spanish media.
Victor Lindelof has spent two years at Manchester United since his big money move from Portuguese giants Benfica and the Swedish international star is seen as the best defender at Old Trafford at the moment.
According to the publication from popular Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona made an enquiry about the aforementioned Lindelof and it was swiftly rejected by Manchester United.
The Red Devils are not ready to sanction the sale of their best defender.
They signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica in a deal believed to be around £31m.
Barcelona see him as an alternative to Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt who’s closing in on a move to Juventus ahead of the Catalan giants.
Victor Lindelof scored once in 31 appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League last season.
In total, the 24-year-old made 40 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions.
It was revealed that the Manchester United defender left a lasting impression on Barcelona officials during their quarterfinal tie in the Champions League.
Barcelona already have several centre backs on their books from Gerard Pique to Christian Lenglet to Samuel Umtiti to Jean-Clair Todibo.
