Premier League giants Manchester United are targeting a move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi this summer according to the latest reports coming out of the British media.

The Red Devils have serious doubt over the future of star striker Romelu Lukaku at the club and they are said to be interested in Mauro Icardi as a possible replacement for the Belgian international.

According to the specific publication from the Daily Express, Manchester United want to replace Lukaku with Icardi who has previously been linked with Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku has already talked about the possibility of moving from the Premier League to the Italian Serie A with Inter Milan keen to sign him.

Newly appointed Nerazzurri manager Antonio Conte has made Lukaku his top target in this transfer window though Inter Milan will have to pay a lot of money to secure his transfer from Manchester United.

Conte tried to sign Romelu Lukaku while he was the Chelsea manager in 2017 but the former Blues striker opted for a move to Old Trafford.

He has been at Manchester United since then.

Lukaku has scored 42 goals for Manchester United since his move to the club two years ago.

£60m Icardi is surplus to requirements at Inter Milan under the new Antonio Conte dispensation and he could be a major transfer target for the Red Devils.
