Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan still have a lot of ground to make up in their quest to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer according to the latest reports emanating from the Italian media.

Former Chelsea star Lukaku is the top transfer target for Inter Milan during this summer’s transfer window upon the request from newly appointed manager Antonio Conte.

According to the specific publication from popular Italian transfer news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are set to make a bid of €60m for Lukaku who has a valuation of €85m.

Inter Milan are €25m off the valuation for Lukaku with Manchester United not willing to accept a swap deal.

The Nerazzurri had earlier offered long-term transfer target Ivan Perisic in a proposed swap deal for Lukaku, but it was turned down by Manchester United.

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has also been mentioned as a sweetener in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku but Manchester United are adamant that only a cash deal will be enough to sanction the sale of the Belgian international star.

Romelu Lukaku has spent two years at Manchester United since his £75m move from fellow Premier League club Everton thus making him the second most expensive player in the history of the club after Paul Pogba.
