French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are reportedly in talks to sign Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye during this summer’s transfer window.

This is according to the publication from the stables of The Sun which claimed that PSG are back in the hunt for the midfielder also linked with a move to three-time European champions Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in the market for a midfielder and Idrissa Gueye is said to be under consideration from Manchester United officials.

Manchester United will have to contend with PSG who have already opened talks to sign the Senegalese international.

Idrissa Gueye is presently on international duty with the Senegalese national team at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

PSG will pay £27m for Idrissa Gueye if talks accelerate with his Merseyside club, Everton.

The French champions tried and failed to sign Idrissa Gueye during the winter transfer window in January.

Everton maintained their stance that the former Aston Villa player is not for sale amidst the serious interest from the French capital club.

The Toffees signed Idrissa Gueye after he suffered relegation with Aston Villa from the Premier League in the summer of 2017 before Everton snapped him up.

He has been a key member of the Everton team since then.
