Premier League giants Manchester United might miss out on one of their transfer targets following the report that the player has agreed on personal terms with Italian Serie A club Napoli.

AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas has been a long-term transfer target for Premier League giants Manchester United but it seems like the Red Devils will miss out on him with the Greek international centre back closing in on a move to Napoli after an agreement with the player.

The salary agreement with Napoli was confirmed by popular Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It was revealed that Kostas Manolas has agreed on a five-year deal with Napoli and the player is expected to earn around €3.5m on a yearly basis.

The AS Roma star has agreed on a €17.5m contract over the next five years.

Napoli have an agreement with Kostas Manolas according to La Gazzetta dello Sport but they still need to agree on a transfer fee with AS Roma for the central defender.

Manolas has a release clause of €36m in his contract with the Italian capital club at the moment and the Romans are not willing to sell him for less.

On their part, Napoli hope they can negotiate a lower transfer fee for the 28-year-old defender.
