French Ligue 1 giants Lyon have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny during this transfer window.
According to Foot Mercato, Lyon want to sign the Gunners defender to bolster their squad defensively ahead of the new season billed to start in the coming weeks.
Arsenal skipper Koscielny has one year left on his current deal with the North Londoners and he has been linked with several clubs this summer.
Apart from Lyon, the 33-year-old defender has also been linked with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and some Turkish clubs like Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
Laurent Koscielny has been at Arsenal since he joined them from French Ligue 2 side Lorient in 2010.
He could return to France for the first time in nine years with Lyon interested in his signature.
New contract talks have broken down between Arsenal and the player thereby leading to intense transfer rumours about his future at the club.
The Gunners have slapped an asking price of £10.6m on their skipper.
Laurent Koscielny has returned to full fitness following a long-term Achilles injury.
The retired French international returned to the pitch towards the end of last year having suffered the aforementioned injury during the 2017/18 Europa League semifinal clash with Atletico Madrid.
