English Premier League outfit Arsenal have now known their fate in the pursuit of French Ligue 2 outfit Lorient young winger Alexis Claude-Maurice.
The Gunners had made their interest known in Alexis Claude-Maurice as they hope to strengthen their team ahead of the coming season.
Manager Unai Emery has been able to benefit from Mateo Guendouzi who came from the same Ligue 2 outfit and he had anticipated for more with Alexis Claude-Maurice but that is not going to happen.
The young winger has made it clear that he would not be joining the club in this summer transfer window.
- Man City submit £90million bid for Man United target
- PSG to storm Liverpool for the signature of legendary midfielder
- Three former Chelsea players expected to return to Stamrord Bridge
Alexis Claude-Maurice is a hot prospect who has already shown that he can play in the big stage if he has the opportunity, but there are fears that he has said YES to other suitors as the Gunners are not alone in his chase.
The young winger was tipped to replace England international Danny Welbeck who left the club after series of injuries that threatened his career.
Also, with Wales international Aaron Ramsey already gone, Alexis Claude-Maurice would have stepped in his shoes as a perfect replacement.
However, Arsenal are linked with a number of key players and will hope to have the deal dusted before the end of the window.
