Merseyside outfit Liverpool have been tipped to have a free run in their pursuit of German Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig star Timo Werner in this summer transfer window.

The Reds team had indicated interest in the 23-year-old but faced battle against Bayern Munich for his signature but that seems to have faded away as it is claimed that the German giants have cooled their interest in the striker.

Liverpool are in search of a striker that will give major competition to Brazilian international Roberto Firmino and have identified Timo Werner as the best fit after he scored a total of 16 goals for his Bundesliga team last season.

Now that Bayern Munich have shifted their attention to Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, Liverpool will now have the free run to land the player should manager Jurgen Klopp make a case for him with the board.

However, Timo Werner has been valued at around £50 million, a fee the Reds would be able to pay if willing.

Howbeit, there is a bid by manager Jurgen Klopp to beat the competition from Man City in the English Premier League for the title as they have now lost out to their rivals in the last two seasons.
