German football expert Raphael Honigstein has told English Primer League leaders Liverpool that they do not have any need for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
Timo Werner has been severally linked with a move to the Anfield with claims that the Reds are already preparing a bid that will have him join the club before the end of the winter transfer window.
The German international has impressed this season to have caught the attention of several European top guns but the Reds are understood to be at the front row with manager Jurgen Klopp keen on the signature.
However, the German football expert admits that Timo Werner is a good player and will no doubt, be a good addition to the team but confessed that they do not have any need for him.
He stressed that the major priority for Liverpool should be a defensive option and not a striker, knowing that they are struggling to have their defenders fit for the second half of the season.
Currently, Liverpool are struggling to have Virgil Van Dijk fit while Joe Gomez is out due to an injury he sustained.
More so, the Reds seem left with no choice than to play Fabinho in the defence as they are unsure of the fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold for the game against Leicester City.
