Arsenal Baulk At €25m Asking Price For Top Transfer Target

North London giants Arsenal have reportedly been put off by the big money slammed on their top transfer target in defence.
Saint Etienne defender William Saliba has emerged as a top transfer target for the Gunners after a stellar campaign for his French Ligue 1 club.
The 18-year-old was a prominent figure as Saint Etienne narrowly missed out on Champions League football for next season.
Saint Etienne finished the latest French top flight league season in fourth place behind the trio of Lyon, Lille and champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Only the top three teams qualified for next season’s Champions League with Saint Etienne primed to feature in the Europa League next season.

William Saliba enjoyed a superb first season for Saint Etienne thus attracting serious interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
According to the report from the stables of the Daily Mirror, the Gunners have baulked at the €25m asking price from Saint Etienne for their prized asset.
It was revealed that the Gunners might move onto other targets if they are unable to meet the asking price for William Saliba.
Apart from the transfer fee, Saint Etienne also want the Gunners to loan the centre back to them for a season in the wake of his sale.
