Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has dismissed transfer rumours linking him with a move to fellow Premier League club Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window.

In his recent interview monitored by Chronicle Live, the young midfielder revealed that his desire his to continue his football career at his boyhood club.

Sean Longstaff also pointed out that he’s not taking anything for granted as things can change quickly within a small period of time.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season during the just concluded Premier League campaign which was ended by a serious knee injury.

Sean Longstaff scored one goal in nine Premier League appearances for the Magpies before his unfortunate injury.

He had earlier spent loan spells at Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock and English League One club Blackpool in recent seasons.

Recent reports claimed that Manchester United want to sign the player rated at around £25m though Newcastle United are reluctant to let one of their best young players leave the club this summer.

The Red Devils are in the transfer market for a new midfielder following the exit of Ander Herrera who has left the club in the wake of the expiration of his contract.

Apart from Sean Longstaff, midfielders like Declan Rice (West Ham United) and Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur) have also been linked with the Red Devils.
