Sign Him Up: Spurs Urged To Make Move For Arsenal Target

Published

Tottenham Hotspur legend Darren Anderton has called on his former club to make a move for highly rated Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Donny Van Der Beek during this summer’s transfer window.

Darren Anderton is Spurs’ record appearance maker in the Premier League and the former midfielder spoke about the North London club in a chat with Sportingbet.

According to him, Tottenham Hotspur should try to sign Dutch midfielder Van Der Beek this summer ahead of Youri Tielemans.

Tottenham Hotspur have made the signing of a new midfielder the top priority for this summer’s transfer window and Belgian international player Tielemans has been targeted as a result.

Youri Tielemans spent the second half of the just concluded Premier League season on loan at Leicester City from parent club AS Roma and he impressed a great deal thereby attracting the interest of clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and others.

Darren Anderton believes Spurs should pursue a move for Van Der Beek instead of the aforementioned Tielemans.

Van Der Beek has been attracting the interest of North London rivals Arsenal after a stellar campaign with Ajax Amsterdam.

The 22-year-old helped Ajax reach the Champions League semifinals for the first time in almost two decades (since 1997).

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has given an update on the contract situation of his star players, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners’ boss confirmed that they are working on new deals for the two players.

Unai Emery spoke about the two players during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Burnley.

Arsenal host Burnley in their second league game of the season having opened their account with a 1-0 away win over Newcastle United.

Gabonese international star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game to give the Gunners an opening day win.

The Premier League clash between Arsenal and Burnley at the Emirates Stadium is the first game for week two.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are expected to feature for the Gunners against Burnley.

The two attackers have been instrumental to the Gunners’ quest for major honours and it’s not surprising that club officials want to tie them down to respective deals.

Aubameyang has two years left on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, while strike partner Alexandre Lacazette has three years left on his own contract.

Aubameyang scored 31 goals in all competitions for Arsenal in the last campaign, while Lacazette hit 19 goals for the Gunners.

North London giants Arsenal have named their provisional squad ahead of the league meeting with Burnley.

Arsenal will host Burnley at the Emirates Stadium in what’s the first game of week two matches in the Premier League.

The big news for the Gunners is that Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac are available for selection again after their recent woes with criminals in London.

The two players have been targeted by gangs in the capital thus prompting the Metropolitan Police to open an investigation into the situation.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery confirmed earlier in the week that the two players have returned to the squad after missing the Premier League opener at Newcastle United.

Ozil and Kolasinac were conspicuously absent as Pierre-Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game to hand Arsenal a 1-0 win at the home of Newcastle United.

Strike partner Alexandre Lacazette was an unused substitute because of a little ankle issue for the Newcastle game but the Frenchman has recovered fully to take his place in the squad for the league clash with the Clarets.

Former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas is certain that Chelsea will struggle to achieve results this season.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has named a 19-man squad for the Spanish La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao on Friday night.

Ernesto Valverde and his Barcelona players travel to San Mames to take on Atheltic Bilbao in what’s the first game of the new Spanish La Liga season.

The big news is that Barcelona will be without the services of skipper and talisman Lionel Messi.

Barcelona got their goals through the trio of Antoine Griezmann (first goal for his new club), Luis Suarez (a brace) and long-term Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele.

Lionel Messi returned to Barcelona earlier this month after an extended break on the back of his participation with Argentina at the COPA America tournament in Brazil.
