Europa League finalists Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow following the news that one of their targets will stay at his German club.
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz has been strongly linked with a summer move to Arsenal but the young midfielder is almost certain to remain at the Bay Arena next season.
Club manager Peter Bosz confirmed in his recent interview that Kai Havertz will stay at the club beyond this summer.
In a chat with the official TV of Bayer Leverkusen, Bayer 04 TV, Peter Bosz revealed that Havertz will stay at the club next season while he was less convinced about the future of Julian Brandt.
Peter Bosz revealed that Liverpool target Brandt might still stay at the club after Bayer Leverkusen sealed a spot in the Champions League next season.
Bayer Leverkusen qualified for Europe’s premier club competition by beating Hertha Berlin 5-1 on Saturday.
Julian Brandt scored one of the goals for Bayer Leverkusen during the game that could be his last for the German Bundesliga club.
It was his 10th goal for Bayer Leverkusen this season in addition to his 17 assists.
On his part, Kai Havertz has scored 20 goals for Leverkusen this season in all competitions and was previously linked with Arsenal earlier in the season.
Arsenal In Talks To Sign £27m-rated Defender
Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender Thomas Meunier during this transfer window.
This is according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mail which claimed that Arsenal want to bolster their squad defensively with a new right-back and PSG star Thomas Meunier is a target.
It was also revealed that PSG want £27m for Thomas Meunier excluding add-ons and the said asking price could rule the Gunners out of the running to sign the Belgian international.
North London giants Arsenal are not the only Premier League club keen to sign Thomas Meunier this summer with rivals Manchester United also interested in him.
The two Premier League clubs want to sign a new right-back this summer and Thomas Meunier is a target for both teams.
First choice Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin might not be fit for the rest of the season after missing the second half of last season with a serious knee injury and the Gunners want to bring in a cover for him.
Young Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles played at right-back for the better part of the second half of last season with mixed results while aging Swiss international right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner has been released after just one season in North London.
Arsenal Set To Loan First Summer Signing
North London giants Arsenal will loan Saint Etienne defender William Saliba back to the French Ligue 1 club this summer after completing a deal for him according to latest French media reports.
William Saliba has been turning heads on the European football stage after his breakthrough season for Saint Etienne.
According to the specific publication from trusted French news platform L’Equipe, Arsenal will sign the £27m defender and then loan him back to Saint Etienne.
William Saliba is on course to become the first summer signing at Arsenal.
The 18-year-old French defender is also attracting the interest of Premier League champions Manchester City.
Arsenal had one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the league during the just concluded season and Gunners boss Unai Emery is keen to address those defensive issues with the signing of quality center backs like William Saliba.
Apart from William Saliba, the Gunners have been linked with other centre backs like Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga, Kostas Manolas of AS Roma in the Italian Serie A and Joachim Andersen of Italian Serie A club Sampdoria.
Arsenal are said to have made an offer for Joachim Andersen as part of the €55m double raid for him and Sampdoria teammate Dennis Praet.
21-Year-Old Boy Snubs Arsenal Transfer
North London giants Arsenal have received a transfer blow in their bid to sign young German goalkeeper Markus Schubert this summer with the Gunners poised to lose out to Bundesliga club Schalke 04.
This is according to the specific publication from German media portal Ran which claimed that the young goalkeeper will shun Arsenal to join Schalke 04.
Markus Schubert is a free agent after the expiration of his contract with German Bundesliga 2 side Dynamo Dresden.
He made 32 appearances for Dynamo Dresden in all competitions last season including 31 games in the German Bundesliga II.
Earlier reports had claimed that Arsenal had agreed on a free transfer move for the 21-year-old goalkeeper and that the Gunners are already planning to send him out on loan to a club in the English Championship or a non-English club.
Arsenal are in the market for a new goalkeeper after the retirement of Petr Cech.
The veteran Czech Republic shot stopper had earlier announced his decision to retire this summer.
His last game was the Europa League final which the Gunners lost 4-1 to London rivals Chelsea.
Apart from Markus Schubert, the Gunners have been linked with other goalkeepers like Sampdoria shot stopper Emil Audero and Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in recent weeks.
Arsenal Prised Out Of Transfer Move For £30m Winger
North London giants Arsenal have reportedly been prised out of a move for Dalian Yifang winger Yannick-Ferreira Carrasco.
This is according to the publication from The Sun which claimed that the Gunners can’t afford the asking price of one of their transfer targets.
It was revealed that Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang are demanding £30m for Carrasco who’s keen to leave Asia for Europe this summer.
The new development is a far cry from recent reports which claimed that the Gunners are closing in on a move for the former AS Monaco and Atletico Madrid player.
In his recent interview, Carrasco confirmed that an offer is on the table from an unnamed European club which many believed is Arsenal.
The Belgian international left Atletico Madrid for China in February 2018 but he’s keen to return to European football after failing to adapt to life in the Asian country.
Yannick-Ferreira Carrasco was linked with Arsenal and the Milan clubs, Inter and AC Milan, during the winter transfer window but his Chinese club was not willing to release him.
The 25-year-old is more determined to leave Dalian Yifang this summer but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to reach an agreement for his transfer.
Serie A Giant Plotting Swap Deal For £35m-rated Arsenal Star
Seven-time European champions AC Milan are eyeing a swap deal for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira according to the latest reports emanating from the Italian media.
Uruguayan international Lucas Torreira has emerged as a top transfer target for AC Milan this summer.
The 23-year-old is presently with the Uruguayan national team at the ongoing COPA America tournament in Brazil.
Uruguay is bidding for a first COPA America title in eight years and Lucas Torreira is expected to be a big part of that quest for glory.
According to the specific publication from La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are willing to offer Frank Kessie in exchange for Lucas Torreira though it remains to be seen whether the Gunners would sanction a deal for the £35m-rated midfielder.
Lucas Torreira is an important player for Arsenal having joined the Gunners from Italian top flight club Sampdoria last summer.
Ivorian international Frank Kessie has spent the last two seasons on loan at AC Milan from fellow Italian Serie A club Atalanta with the obligation to sign him for £30m this summer.
Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo is expected to take over the managerial role at AC Milan this summer.
Marco Giampaolo is keen to reunite with Lucas Torreira whom he worked with at Sampdoria.

This is according to Sky Sports who also confirmed that Spanish La Liga giants Valencia have had a £13m bid accepted for the 24-year-old.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for Joan Jordan as they search for a replacement for Aaron Ramsey but the North Londoners are yet to make a concrete offer for the Eibar player who has made 75 appearances for his club in the last two seasons.
Arsenal will have to do without Aaron Ramsey who has left the club after his contract expired.
The 28-year-old will join Juventus on a free transfer ahead of the new season after he agreed on a four-year contract worth £400,000 on a weekly basis.
Welsh international Ramsey was an Arsenal player for one decade.
Joan Jordan is on the verge of becoming the fourth summer signing at West Ham United who have already made four transfers as at the early stage of this summer’s transfer window.
West Ham have signed goalkeepers David Martin and Roberto as well as midfielder Pablo Fornals.

Borussia Dortmund have enquired about signing Koscielny whom Arsenal have slapped an asking price of £10.6m on.

North London giants Arsenal will have to pay a lot of money to sign Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha this summer according to the report from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato.
The Gunners are one of three Premier League clubs on the trail of the Albanian international shot stopper.
The 24-year-old has impressed a great deal for Lazio in recent seasons and it’s not surprising that club president Claudio has slammed a €50m transfer fee on him.
Apart from the Gunners, other London clubs like West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the Lazio goalkeeper.
Thomas Strakosha has kept 37 clean sheets in 121 appearances for his Italian capital club conceding 142 games since he made his Lazio debut seven years ago (in 2012).
The Albanian goalkeeper was instrumental to the recent Coppa Italia win achieved by Lazio via a 2-0 win over Atalanta in their final clash.
Arsenal are in need of a replacement for veteran shot stopper Petr Cech who has retired from football.
The ex-Czech international goalkeeper had earlier said that the just concluded season would be his last one as a professional player.
