The report of Merseyside outfit Liverpool being interested in the signature of Ajax star defender Matthijs de Ligt has been laid to rest by James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.
The report had claimed that the Reds team are interested in the Ajax central defender, with claims that they have already established a secret contact to find out about his availability.
However, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo has argued that the Klopp-led team is not interested in bringing in the Ajax central Defender to the Anfield.
He claims that manager Jurgen Klopp has got a very formidable defence and has already declared that he is happy with his squad which leaves no room for any other player.
The presence of Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip has given Liverpool the depth needed in the defence to challenge Manchester City for the English Premier League title.
Meanwhile, it is suggested that Matthijs de Ligt would be heading to the Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona as they are strongly linked with his signature.
Matthijs de Ligt played a major role in ensuring the elimination of two top European clubs, Real Madrid and Juventus from the UEFA Champions League.
