English Premier League side Liverpool will not make any move for a central defender in this winter transfer window, according to latest reports.

It was earlier expected that the Reds run to the winter market for fresh additions following the injury crisis the club is dipped into after manager Jurgen Klopp had made it clear that he is happy with his squad but might be forced into some transfer dealings if an emergency situation arises.

However, there is a big situation at the Anfield with Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, all central defenders injured which leaves the Merseyside club with limited options.

Despite the crisis, it has been confirmed that the club are confident that the situation will not affect their obvious title bid as they will not secure additions of a central defender.

This was revealed by a report on sports television channel ESPN which claims the Premier League leaders are still likely to have a quiet transfer market this January despite the many injuries.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are still leaders of on the Premier League table as they are 7 points clear of second placed Manchester City who are yet to play their match 22 game as at press time.
