Premier League champions Manchester City will have to pay a world-record transfer fee for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire if they want to sign him this summer.
This is according to widespread reports emanating from the British media.
It was revealed that the Citizens have set their sights on Harry Maguire as the direct replacement for Vincent Kompany.
Manchester skipper Kompany will leave the club this summer after 11 years of service to the treble winners.
The Belgian made 360 appearances for Manchester City during that period and he has been appointed in a player-manager role at Anderlecht.
Vincent Kompany will join Belgian top flight giants Anderlecht at the start of the new season.
England international star Maguire is the defensive target for Manchester City and they have to pay more than the world-record fee for Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk according to the Daily Mail.
Liverpool paid £75m to sign Van Dijk from fellow Premier League club Southampton last year and Leicester City is expected to demand more than that amount.
Manchester City is keen to sign a new defender following the exit of club skipper Vincent Kompany who led the Citizens to the domestic treble for the first time in the history of English league football.
