Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has signed a one-year contract extension to his contract at the club to ward off the transfer rumours linking him with an exit from the club.
His new contract was announced by Real Madrid.
Toni Kroos has been a key member of the Real Madrid squad since his transfer from German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
He had three years left on his previous contract before extending it by one year until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Toni Kroos has repeatedly been linked to a move away from Real Madrid this summer with clubs like Manchester United touted as his possible destination.
Just like what’s obtainable with Real Madrid this season, Kroos has had a campaign to forget to further compound his woes from last summer when he was part of the Germany squad that failed to perform well.
Kroos and Germany were the champions before the World Cup tournament in Russia last summer only for them to stun the world by crashing out in the group stage.
Real Madrid will end this season without a major European trophy after they dropped out of contention for all the competitions as at the start of March, two months before the season ends.
